We are self-producing a film about our antarctic expedition and tickets for the Paris premiere are already available.

In late November 2025, aboard the WHY, we set sail for Antarctica for a three-month scientific expedition. Our goal? To better understand the deep ecosystems of this white continent.

For 77 days, we dove to depths never before reached in Antarctica to study Marine Animal Forests — complex ecosystems that play a key ecological role and could potentially provide refuge in the face of climate change and the growing pressures of human activity.

But the problem with these deep-sea ecosystems is that no one sees them. And yet, what happens there concerns us all. That is why, for the past several months, we have been self-producing a film. Not simply to tell the story of an expedition, but to reveal what is so rarely seen and explore one fundamental question:

How far are we willing to go to protect life?

THE FILM IN A FEW WORDS:

Through this extraordinary adventure, the film tells the story of a new way of conducting expeditions: no longer driven by the pursuit of achievement and performance, but by the desire to understand and protect. Because in the face of the state of our world, exploration must become a commitment.

But that commitment comes at a cost. Moving between wonder, exhaustion and danger, scientific discoveries and human adventure, this story invites us to question ourselves. And it reminds us that we are better able to protect what we know — but above all, what we have felt.

TODAY, WE NEED YOU:

For the first time since Under The Pole was founded in 2008, we have chosen to self-produce a film about our expedition, so that we can tell this story through our own eyes, as close as possible to what we experienced in the field.

But self-producing a film on this scale represents a significant commitment, both human and financial. To give it the post-production, quality and visibility it needs to reach as many people as possible, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign today.

We have chosen to build this campaign around a major premiere in Paris. Rather than offering a large number of physical rewards, we wanted to offer you an experience above all: the chance to join us for the launch of the film and share a special moment together around this extraordinary expedition.

Tickets for the premiere are now available, along with several other rewards, on our Ulule page.
