Our Expeditions
For over 18 years, Under The Pole has been exploring the depths of the Ocean. Each expedition is dedicated to exploring, documenting and protecting marine biodiversity across the globe.
The WHY
The ‘WHY’ expedition sailing vessel is a sturdy aluminum schooner, designed to navigate all the world’s seas ‑ tropical, temperate and polar regions ‑ or wintering on the ice. It has the capacity to accommodate 12 crew members across 5 cabins and carry several tons of equipment for underwater and terrestrial exploration.
The DEEPSEA
In addition to our expedition sailing vessel, Under The Pole operates a rigid‑hull inflatable designed to organize and secure diving activities. This Patrol 660, provided by our long‑time partner HIGHFIELD and customized to our needs, allows us to carry divers and equipment, reach remote sites safely, and conduct technical and deep scientific dives. Certified as a work and training vessel, it is also used for our diving school.
