Education
From the outset, Under The Pole has pursued one clear ambition : to make the discoveries from its expeditions accessible, with a strong focus on young learners and students.
Inspiring Ocean awareness
Under The Pole builds on its expeditions to create engaging and science‑driven learning resources designed for schools. Our education team create bespoke materials that spark curiosity for ocean sciences and nurture a desire to protect marine life.
Developed specifically for teachers, these resources blend scientific research, field stories and real‑world discoveries to help young people connect with the Ocean, understand the wide range of marine species and biodiversity.
With the DEEPLIFE program, this mission places an even stronger emphasis on supporting teachers and their students. Our learning initiatives showcase the richness of marine biodiversity and open a window into the behind‑the‑scenes world of Ocean exploration ‑ encouraging curiosity, inspiring action and empowering the next generation to care for the Ocean.

Our learning offering
Under The Pole's education team has developed a range of playful, immersive and engaging formats which offer students ‑ from primary school to higher education ‑ new ways to understand the Ocean and to become aware of current challenges as well as conservation issues.
These formats include educational games, activity booklets and themed workshops that bring Under The Pole’s research expeditions into the classroom for a more engaging learning experience. They are available to teachers who want to use these resources to support and enrich their students’ learning journeys.
