Looking back the Cap sur l'Antarctique ! educational booklets!
On the occasion of the three-month Antarctic expedition, Under The Pole’s outreach team in Concarneau created educational booklets that allowed primary school students to follow the adventure in real time.
Designed to spark curiosity and wonder, these resources gave every registered teacher the opportunity to develop a classroom project centered on the Under The Pole expedition.
In total, 400 classes participated in the adventure, allowing around 6,000 students to discover Antarctica and its inhabitants while following the expedition and Under The Pole’s conservation missions. Two live video sessions from Antarctica were also offered, giving students the chance to ask the crew questions and experience life on board firsthand.
We are deeply moved by the many positive responses, thank-you messages, and children’s drawings we received following this project. Thank you to all the classes for participating with such enthusiasm and curiosity.
The six sessions of the Heading to Antarctica project can be found in the new “Our educational resources” section on our website.
