The technical diving school UNDER THE POLE accompanies you in the learning of the rebreather diving. 

From our base in Concarneau or from our expedition sailboat, we can accompany you in the development of your rebreather diving skills. 

We teach on two rebreathers: the JJ and the REVO from beginner to advanced diver.

The training is identical for JJCCR and REVO. 

This training will open you the 0 - 40 meters space in closed rebreather. 

It is open to divers holding a PA40 accompanied with in minimum a confirmed Nitrox.

Different essential points will be taught throughout your training:

  • Assembly, inspection and reconditioning of your rebreather
  • The different rescue procedures 
  • The use of your rebreather in technically degraded conditions
  • Diving in mechanical and hybrid mode
  • Dive planning with a maximum of 25 minutes of decompression

The training takes place over 5 days (40 hours) and consists of :

  • 8 dives at sea 
  • 4 hours of theoritical course
  • 1 hour of written evaluation 

In case of CrossOver from another ACC, the training is reduced to 3 days and 4 dives at sea.

At the end of this training you will be certified as a TDI air diluent rebreather diver

The price includes the supply of gas and soda lime.

In addition :

  • Rebreather rental : +50€/day
  • Location Bail-Out + détendeur : +20€/jour
  • Additional training day: +150€/day
  • Formation complémentaire Hélitrox 45m : +300€ / 2 jours

At the end of your training, you will be able to increase your experience and participate in exploration diving days, accompanied by our teams:

  • Exploration diving day : 150€/day
  • Rebreather rental : +50€/day

Opening of an exploration day possible from 4 divers.

General organisation:

The days of training generally start at 09:00 and end at 17:30.

Mid-day meals, such as snacks, must be provided by the trainees.

Teaching methods: 

When you enter the program, you will be given a digital educational file. This will contain all the educational documents concerning your course.

A follow-up of the acquisition of your skills will be debriefed by your trainer daily.

Individual equipment to have when you enter the course:

Provide sufficient thermal protection (dry suit recommended) for dives of 60 minutes (minimum), twice a day.

  • Mask
  • Spear mask
  • Two sharp tools
  • Orange diving parachute 
  • Yellow diving parachute
  • One 120m reel
  • A 30m spool
  • A pair of flippers adapted to the frog kick
  • A CCR compatible backup computer
  • A diving light
  • A Bail-out equipped with a regulator with direct system

The use and mastery of the waterproof suit is strongly recommended for our training courses in Concarneau.

The training is identical for JJCCR and REVO. 

This training will open you the 0 - 40 meters space in closed rebreather.

This is the intermediate level certification course for divers wishing to use a closed circuit rebreather (CCR) with a diluent gas mixture such as TRIMIX (minimum 16% oxygen).

Prerequisites for this training:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a minimum of 50 hours of diving spread over a minimum of 50 dives on the specific rebreather.
  • Validated dives must be made to a depth greater than 9 meters, at least 20 dives to a depth greater than 30 meters, and at least 10 dives requiring decompression by stops.
  • If the diver has 50 hours on another rebreather, only 25 hours/25 dives are required on the specific unit.
  • If you are changing units, provide proof of at least 10 logged CCR dives in the last 12 months.
  • You must be a certified rebreather diver (0 -40m).

Structuring the course:

The training takes place over 5 days (40 hours) and consists of :

It will be composed of:

  • 6 dives including 4 with decompression and a runtime of more than 60 minutes.
  • 2 half days of theoretical courses
  • 1 written evaluation at the end of the course

Different essential points will be taught throughout your training:

  • Assembly, control, optimization and reconditioning of your rebreather in normoxic trimix mode
  • Knowledge of ternary mix diving theory
  • The different rescue procedures in relation to your depth of evolution 
  • The use of your rebreather in technically degraded conditions
  • The inflation of overoxygenated and ternary mixtures
  • Dive planning in the 0 - 60m zone

 

Rate of the training: 1450€ TTC (Adjustable rate according to the number of trainees)

The price includes the supply of gas and soda lime.

In addition :

  • Rebreather rental : +50€/day
  • Bail-Out rental + regulator : +30€/day
  • Additional training day: +150€/day

At the end of your training, you will be able to increase your experience and participate in exploration diving days, accompanied by our teams:

  • Exploration diving day : 150€/day 
  • Rebreather rental : +50€/day
  • Bail out and CCR cylinder inflation on request

The training is identical for JJCCR and REVO. 

This training will open you the 0 - 40 meters space in closed rebreather. 

It is open to divers certified Trimix Normoxic and justifying 100 hours of diving on their rebreather including 50 hours beyond 40 meters (and at least 30 dives with decompression)

The mastery of the drysuit is mandatory for your entry in training.

Structuring the course:

The training takes place over 5 days (40 hours) and consists of :

It will be composed of:

  • 7 dives in the sea, 4 between 40 and 70 meters and 2 beyond 70 meters
  • 2 half days of theoretical courses
  • 1 written evaluation at the end of the course

Different essential points will be taught throughout your training:

  • Assembly, control, optimization and reconditioning of your rebreather in normoxic trimix mode
  • Knowledge of ternary mix diving theory
  • The different rescue procedures in relation to your depth of evolution 
  • The use of your rebreather in technically degraded conditions
  • The inflation of overoxygenated and ternary mixtures
  • Dive planning in the 0 - 100m zone

 

The hypoxic trimix training courses will not be given in Concarneau, but on our expedition sailboat _ The WHY.

The dates and prices will depend on the availability and location of our sailboat.
